Why Hell and Paradise?

Because I grew up on a little island in the Caribbean—and I carry two opposing worlds inside me.

I give you an islander’s point of view.

I show you the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Then I leave.

Over the course of the book, I migrate to the United States. That’s the literal odyssey.

But the deeper odyssey is what happens inside me.

You’ll watch me make choices that hurt.

You’ll witness some of the darkest moments of my life.

And, strangely enough, some of the funniest.
