Boundary #31: I Don’t Have To Discuss Any Topic That I’m Not Okay With.
If a conversation veers into territory I find triggering, intrusive, or simply too personal, I have every right to bow out. I might politely say, “I’d rather not talk about that,” and that’s that. This is an intellectual boundary (choosing what I engage with mentally), and it’s just as valid as any other kind of boundarystudentaffairs.stanford.edu. By declining to discuss certain topics, I protect my peace of mind.
